Ø Students prepare a fantasy look to reflect their mood boards
Ø Students present their mood boards and their fantasy looks
Ø Students evaluate each others work
Evaluation – Most students worked really well. They have been preparing for the presentation for the last six weeks. Some were unprepared and many were very nervous. All three of the new in hairdressing groups were together for the showcase.
My evaluation of the activity would be that learners really enjoyed the ‘fun’ aspect of the activity and were encouraged to use their creative skills. As for the peer assessment activity (where learners evaluated each other involved them filling in a feedback sheet for another participant) I think that in future we show vote a winner and arrange a prize for him or her.
This type of peer assessment could be incorporated in all practical lessons. This could be achieved by holding up all the tuition heads and asking learners to vote for a winner / discuss good points, at the end of a session.
