Younger Learner session (yesterday)

Learnt some great new ways to use ICT in teaching, ever thought of using Ebay?

Check out www.mindmeister.com and choose the basic free option, it’s a great way of creating and sharing your mind maps with your students, which they can add too.

Will defiantly be trying to incorporate more ICT into my classes, a colleague suggested getting students to photograph the board with their phones. Also…you can send texts from a PC to remind your students of deadlines or add videos to a blog for revision / catch up.

The on-line mindmap is pretty good.

There's some really cool stuff you could do with Google sites - students (or yourself) create a website on Google.

I remember speaking to a class of nail designers who thought they could do sites for their nail designs - think up site name, upload some pics and descriptions.

If interested get in touch with Penny or me (martin king) in room 333

Thanks for cascading the ideas you learnt in the session with me. I'm glad you found it interesting and useful. The ILT trainers Wendy Peskett, Tony Welch and Idriss Wali are here to help with any training or support in any ILT projects you may wish to try out. The more of these sessions you attend with us the more ideas you will have to experiement with.

This is great, isn't it? I did a session with Wendy P and am now getting my group to do a group map to plan an assignment. The great thing with this is they can all access it from home. I'll let you know how it works out.

Thanks to you all for your comments, looking forward to learning how to do podcasts next Monday with Wendy. Also Martin showed me how to create a survey and a google website. Currently working on these both now so will link them to my blog when they are finished. Best R:-)
