My studies at Roehampton University began yesterday with an introduction to Research Methodology (Part 1), we were given the chance to explore different research methods and discussed validity and reliability of the sources. We were presented with a group of quotes from journals and looked in depth at where the research had come from. Some quotes contained figures and percentages which had been taken from reliable sources. Others simply relied on one person's account and therefore where open to much more criticism.
I am just starting the Postgraduate Diploma in Education at Roehampton, from which I hope to progress from to the Masters in Education. The Postgraduate Diploma provides 120 credits at 'M level', the Masters then provides an extra 60credits (through the dissertation) which make up the MA in Education (MEd). The University of Roehampton has a lovely campus and I look forward to my future studies.

Sounds like a good place to start.
It would be interesting if they had an excercise in how to lie with statistics.
I did a course in media years ago and having an excersise in hwo to lie with a video camera - how to distort a news item in particular ways with various angles and operational techniques like slow zoom to portray someone as suspicious
Thats very true...the media often portray things in a certain way to go with a story or to encourage interest from readers / viewer. I often find news broadcasts and newspaper articules very one sided and it can be frustrating when the media fails to follow up storys previously in the headlines(because the conculsion is not interesting enough to report)
